MARK.S (pronounced “Mark-S”) is a brand that values the feeling evoked by clothing itself, rather than something to be understood through words or theory.

Drawing attention to the beauty and essence found in historic fabrics, boro, and well-loved vintage garments—qualities that cannot be fully conveyed through language—the designer personally sources hand-woven, hand-spun, and unused antique fabrics from around the world. With a strong focus on natural materials, these are transformed into special pieces produced only in limited quantities.

MARK.S also works with materials that carry the traces of place and time, including traditional mud-dyeing techniques used in Oshima Tsumugi and special fabrics woven slowly on machines close to handlooms. Through these materials, the brand seeks to avoid wasteful mass production while creating enduring designs intended to remain relevant into the future.
