OLUBIYI THOMAS_m

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, based in London.After graduating from Central Saint Martins' menswear program from 2009 to 2013, he worked as a pattern maker in the men's dress department at Alexander McQueen. He then debuted his first spring/summer collection in June 2016.

As of 2022, Olubiyi Thomas is an independent label that takes a craft production approach to design. Antique clothing and textiles from Europe and West Africa are studied and reinterpreted with respect. His solid creative inspiration goes beyond music, as well as the work of Renaissance Dutch painter Hieronymus Bosch and London-based Nigerian artist Yinka Shonibare. . The signature style is an elongated, layered silhouette with drapes and rough edges that complete the avant-garde aesthetic. Born in Nigeria and raised in Scotland, Olubiyi Thomas expresses his multiculturalism and exploration of hidden identities.
