26SS Collection
Macchia Mediterranea
Macchia Mediterranea means "Mediterranean shrubland spread along the southern coast."
This collection reinterprets the wild nature and quiet beauty thriving on the southern coast, drawing inspiration from the light, colors, and textures of the Mediterranean with a contemporary perspective.
It pursues sophistication born from not over-designing, respecting the natural expressions of materials exposed to rock faces, plants, and sea breezes.
It expresses a new balance where opposing elements coexist: wildness and sophistication, nature and humanity, past and present.
This summer collection, with tagliovivo's unique sensibility, elevates the vitality residing in the primeval landscape of the Mediterranean into a modern wardrobe.
Color Palette – Macchia Mediterranea
The color palette is derived from the plants, flowers, sky, wind, sea, light, and shadow of the Mediterranean coast.
Each possesses a vivid individuality while harmoniously blending into a single beautiful landscape.
Black - The deep shadows created by the sunlight, the nighttime coastline. It functions as a color that tightens the entire collection and gives depth to time.
Brand Introduction
tagliovivo
The brand name "Tagliovivo," meaning "cut raw," precisely describes the identity of this brand, which presents a luxurious yet rough aesthetic. The combination of vegetable-tanned rough leather and metal is a distinctive feature of this brand.
The bags created by Tagliovivo are natural.
Here, "natural" means that the bags are made by leaving scratches on the leather as they are, stemming from the designer's philosophy of embracing the natural marks of the animals. These are born from a respect for animals. Such rough leather with scratches reminds the designer of nature. He aims to make bags as close to nature as possible. Each piece is cut by hand, considering which parts to use for durability and to create a beautiful bag that can be used across generations.
Another distinctive feature is the metal.
Many buckle rings use wrought iron chains made in the mid-to-late 19th century. These were used in Italy to hang teapots over fireplaces, and the designer was captivated by them the moment he first saw them, wanting to incorporate them into his bags. In addition to such iron, aluminum materials have also started to be incorporated. To create a contrast between the rough leather and shining metal, round handles cut by laser were created. These are produced by artisans in a long-established workshop in Italy that has been passed down for three generations.
