Macchia Mediterranea
Macchia Mediterranea means "Mediterranean shrubland spread along the southern coast."
This collection reinterprets the wild nature and quiet beauty of the southern coast, drawing inspiration from the light, colors, and textures of the Mediterranean, from a contemporary perspective.
It seeks sophistication through an understated approach, respecting the natural expressions of rock faces, plants, and materials exposed to sea breezes.
It expresses a new balance where contrasting elements—wildness and sophistication, nature and humanity, past and present—coexist.
This summer collection elevates the vitality inherent in the Mediterranean landscape into a contemporary wardrobe, with tagliovivo's unique sensibility.
Color Palette – Macchia Mediterranea
The color palette is derived from the plants, flowers, sky, wind, sea, light, and shadows of the Mediterranean coast.
Each possesses a vibrant individuality, yet harmonizes beautifully as a single landscape.
Bora - A tense, atmospheric tone derived from "Bora," the cold, sharp north wind. It brings tension and contrast amidst the heat and stillness.
Brand Introduction
tagliovivo
The brand name [Tagliovivo], meaning "raw cut," accurately describes the brand's identity: a luxurious yet rough aesthetic. The combination of rough vegetable-tanned leather and metal is a hallmark of this brand.
Tagliovivo's bags are natural.
Here, "natural" means that the designer creates bags by leaving the natural scars on the leather as they are, embracing the marks that were once part of the animal. This stems from a respect for animals. Such rough leather with remaining scars reminds the designer of nature. He aims to create bags that are as close to nature as possible. Each piece is hand-cut, with consideration for which parts of the leather will provide durability and result in a beautiful bag that can be used across generations.
Another distinctive feature is the metal.
Many of the buckle rings use wrought iron chains made in the mid to late 19th century. These were used in Italy to hang teapots over fireplaces, and the designer was instantly captivated by them, wanting to incorporate them into his bags. In addition to iron, he also began to incorporate aluminum. To create a contrast between the rough leather and the shining metal, he crafted round handles cut with a laser. These are produced by artisans in a long-established workshop in Italy, which has been in business for three generations.
