Macchia Mediterranea
Macchia Mediterranea means "Mediterranean scrubland spreading along the southern coast."
This collection reinterprets the wild nature and quiet beauty of the southern coast, drawing inspiration from the light, colors, and textures of the Mediterranean Sea, from a modern perspective.
It respects the natural expression of materials exposed to rock surfaces, plants, and sea breezes, seeking a sophistication that arises from not over-crafting.
It expresses a new balance where opposing elements coexist: wildness and sophistication, nature and humanity, past and present.
This is a summer collection that sublimates the vitality inherent in the Mediterranean landscape into a modern wardrobe, with tagliovivo's unique sensibility.
Color Palette – Macchia Mediterranea
The color palette is derived from the plants, flowers, sky, wind, sea, and light and shadow of the Mediterranean coast.
Each possesses a vivid individuality while harmoniously blending into a single landscape.
Brand Introduction
tagliovivo
The brand name [Tagliovivo], meaning "cut raw," precisely describes the identity of this brand, which is both luxurious and rough in appearance. The combination of vegetable-tanned raw leather and metal is a hallmark of this brand.
Tagliovivo's bags are natural.
Here, "natural" means that the bags are made while retaining the scratches on the leather, stemming from the designer's philosophy of accepting the scars that were once part of the animals. These are born out of respect for animals. Such raw leather with remaining scratches reminds the designer of nature. He wants to create bags that are as close to nature as possible. Each piece is cut by hand, considering which parts to use for durability and to create a beautiful bag that can be used across generations.
Another distinctive feature is the metal.
Many buckle rings use wrought iron chains made in the mid to late 19th century. These were used to hang teapots over fireplaces in Italy, and the designer was captivated the moment he first saw them, wanting to incorporate them into his bags. In addition to such iron, aluminum materials have also begun to be incorporated. To create a contrast between the raw leather and the shiny metal, laser-cut circular handles were created. These are produced by artisans in a long-established workshop in Italy that has been around for three generations.
